Yes. Our practicum counsellors currently have availability and offer reduced-fee sessions under close clinical supervision.

Yes. Our counsellors hold recognized credentials and meet national standards for education, ethics, and ongoing training. In Newfoundland and Labrador, counselling is not yet provincially regulated. Many professionals hold certification through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), which ensures high standards of practice and ethical care.

Absolutely. Practicum counsellors are graduate-level clinicians who work under close supervision with Heather Cook. Sessions are collaborative, ethical, and supported every step of the way.

Yes. We offer both in-person (CBS) and online counselling so you can access care in a way that works for you.

Yes. Healing Journey NL is proudly neurodivergent-affirming, queer-affirming, and trauma-informed.

We work beyond traditional talk therapy and may incorporate:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences more effectively. It’s guided by standards set by EMDRIA. Not always. EMDR isn’t a fit for every person or situation. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively, and you always have control over the pace and direction of your care.
