Yes. Heather is a certified counsellor and supervisor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), meeting national standards for education, ethics, and ongoing professional development. While counselling is not yet provincially regulated in Newfoundland and Labrador, many professionals, including Heather,hold CCPA certification, which ensures high standards of practice and ethical care.
Our interns are in the practicum stage of their training and are not yet certified. However, they are nearing completion of their graduate programs and work under the direct supervision of a certified counsellor. They are permitted to work with clients whose needs align with their current level of training and experience.
Yes. Our practicum counsellors are graduate-level clinicians who work under the close supervision of Heather Cook, a certified counsellor and supervisor (CCC-S) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Clients are carefully matched with interns whose training and experience are appropriate for their needs. All sessions are collaborative, ethical, and supported every step of the way to ensure high-quality care and safety.
Yes. We offer both in-person (CBS) and online counselling (virtual or phone) so you can access care in a way that works for you.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences more effectively. It’s guided by standards set by EMDRIA. Not always. EMDR isn’t a fit for every person or situation. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively, and you always have control over the pace and direction of your care.
